Example of anime that makes its own ending -

Full Metal Alchemist
Blue Exorcist

Anime that abruptly stops
Inuyasha (they just started it back up again, years later)
D gray man

Which do you think is worse? It almost makes me wish I didn't watch certain series when it just ends.

I prefer filler endings over abrupt endings.
Although, I suppose abrupt endings could just be fixed by reading the manga.

I hate abrupt stops. Leaves you guessing and wondering exactly what is supposed to happen next. As Blood Wizard said, reading the manga is a quick solution to most of your problems. Gantz had a crappy filler ending so I read the manga and its still going.

I'd say filler endings. The way D. Gray man ended made me want to lick floor. I was looking for the next episode for like a few days. Then I found out there were none.

I'll take filler ending over abrupt endings (Air Gear) any day.

I've had it happen with manga as well.
CLAMP made me so sad when they just dropped Legal Drug. .__. It was so pretty.
